Todd traveled to Newfoundland as the aerial camera operator for the film Lee Wulff: A Remarkable Life, teaming with Cinematographer Robert Hanna and Producer Jeff Pill on a production focused on revisiting the locations central to Lee Wulff’s life and work. A significant part of Todd’s role began more than a year before filming, coordinating with Parks Canada and Transport Canada to secure full authorization for aerial access within national parks...an essential step in accurately capturing the landscapes that shaped Lee Wulff’s legacy.
A key element of the production was the presence of Allan Wulff, Lee’s son. As a child, Allan flew with his father into many of these same remote locations, appearing in several of Lee’s early films and experiencing firsthand the places that defined his father’s work. Having Allan on location added important historical continuity; his memories and experience provided invaluable context as the team revisited sites that he and Lee once explored together. From aerial work over rugged coastlines in classic De Havilland aircraft to drone operations from small boats inside Gros Morne National Park, the production required strong coordination and a deep respect for the protected landscapes. Filming alongside Allan while retracing the routes and fishing grounds central to Lee Wulff’s career made this project both a meaningful professional accomplishment and a lasting contribution to preserving an important chapter in adventure and angling filmmaking.
