Finland – Finnish Troutland

Finnish Troutland

Fly fishing Finland’s Lake District during a rare, world-class baitfish migration, trophy brown trout push prey into shallow, crystal-clear rivers. This short window of intense feeding draws anglers from around the globe and Todd Moen was there to capture it.

After more than fifteen years of long-distance collaboration, Todd finally joins Catch Magazine contributor and Vision Fly Fishing professional Pasi Visakivi on his home waters. Filmed during the Nordic summer’s endless light, Finnish Troutland is a visual story of wild trout, untouched landscapes, and a deeply rooted angling culture.

Set at the newly established Kellankoski Lodge near Jyväskylä, the film centers on a family-run operation situated in the heart of Finland’s premier trout waters. Blending expert fly fishing with cinematic detail, Finnish Troutland offers an intimate look at Finland’s brown trout legacy and the place it calls home.

Special thanks to Pasi Visakivi, Jani Himanko and the Himanko family of Kellankoski Lodge, and Vision Fly Fishing for making this film possible.
