Indiana Bones – Fly Fishing the Bahamas

Indiana Bones | Bahamian Bonefishing Adventure Film by Todd Moen

The inspiration for my T-Motion video Indiana Bones began far from the Bahamas, right at home in Central Oregon. My 10-year-old son, who also happens to be my favorite fly-fishing partner, pointed out that angler Brian O’Keefe looks a lot like Indiana Jones from Raiders of the Lost Ark. That simple observation sparked the idea for this film.

Set on the flats of South Andros Island in the Bahamas, Indiana Bones follows Brian O’Keefe as he paddles the bonefish waters atop a stand-up paddleboard, armed with fly rods and wearing a wild-west hat Indiana Jones himself might claim. From my son’s perspective, this Bahamian bonefishing expedition could easily be Harrison Ford’s next adventure.

Filmed from Eleven Experience’s Bahamas Angling Mothership, located off the west side of South Andros Island, this trip offered out-and-back access to vast white-sand flats teeming with bonefish and other aggressive species eager to crush topwater poppers. Drone footage captures the scale of the Bahamas’ untouched flats, an expansive aquatic wilderness alive with movement and color.

Native Bahamian guides Ornald “Shine” Greene, Dencil Moxey, and Elvis Strachan led us to pristine waters where Brian connected with multiple hard-fighting species, delivering nonstop action. Add the right soundtrack, plenty of shark encounters, and cinematic visuals, and Indiana Bones becomes an unforgettable fly-fishing adventure film.

A heartfelt thank you to Eleven Experience for inviting me down to film this incredible destination and experience some of the finest flats fishing in the world. Special thanks as well to R.L. Winston Rod Company for their continued support of the T-Motion Theater over the past two decades.
